Intensives Pt.3

Well it's that time of year again. Intensives! wooo hooo! For those of you who don't remember my complaints about it last year, let me refresh your memories.

In Korea the kids have one month summer vacation. Most parents send their kids to extra "academy" classes instead of letting them just enjoy themselves and be children for a while. So while our regular schedule remains the same, we have two morning classes tacked on. 7 classes...they really must be trying to kill us. That brings us to 9 teaching hours a day, plus two hours of prep, and then whatever else I need to get done after work goes until whenever. Between all the extra essays and this and that that comes up daily it's making for a pretty difficult month.

And this is with pretty good students/classes. I've experienced bad before, so I know it could be worse, but man this is only the end of day three and I'm already drained.

The only thing that's keeping me going is the thought of the reward of my trip to Bali at the end of all this. These morning classes are going to pay for the whole thing. I'm going to get massaged everyday and just bake in the sun until I don't have a negative thought left in my body.

I know this all sounds like I'm hating life, but I'm not. Things in Korea are still great. There are so many good things coming up, it's awesome. I'm pretty happy ^^

It's hard to believe that 6 months on this contract is already over.

Anna and Amber. Love these two. More pictures to come when I can find some time.
