Dancing Girls
In Korea, when a new restaurant, clothing store, bar...anything opens there is always a big opening. People send huge bouquets of flowers with banners. There is almost always a balloon arch over the entrance to the joint. There is often music on the street and many times there are Korean "dancing girls". I don't know what they're called in Korean, but in English we call them dancing girls because, well, they dance. I guess some genius started it to get people's attention and bring customers in to their place. Then, just like many other things in Korea, everyone else copied. These girls are often in a very short skirt dancing on the street all day/night until the "opening" is over.
I wonder if parents ever say to their kids to get them to study harder "you better get into a good school, or you'll end up being a dancing girl!!"
I really like Korea and many things that I've seen and done here, but I've got to say that this is one of the most stupid things I've ever seen. How humiliating.
