The Yellow Dust

Every spring in Korea the Yellow Dust (or Yellow Sand, if you prefer) blows in from China. They say it is sand from the desert in China and as it blows through the air it picks up the pollution and makes the breathing conditions even worse. It's been really rough on me this year. Last year I barely noticed that it was in the air. This year I can feel it coating my lungs. I can't stop coughing and I'm more phlemy than I usually am when I'm sick.

I walked into my classroom today after 3 days off and everything was covered in the stuff. We could write our names in the desks!
Here it is covering a car. It kind of looks like sidewalk chalk.

Buy a mask and wear it!!! I did one year when it was really bad...even though I felt kinda silly. It really helps....Of course, I bought a children's mask...it was pink with a little bunny......Only in Korea, would a 36 year old woman feel free to be that silly!!!!
