Pop Culture

It's strange being around North American pop culture again. I never followed it that closely, but I usually know who's who and what's what. Right now I'm still in the Kpop scene, listening to my favorite kpop bands and watching my Kdramas.

I hear about movies and songs and artists and I have no clue who they are.

A friend told me to download some Lady Gaga stuff about 6 months ago. I liked it and have been listening to her since then. Here I thought she was somewhat indie and not so famous. I sure did have a shock when I got back here and heard her songs everywhere. I thought that I've lost my music snobbery of the younger years, but I guess not as I instantly liked her less when I realized how huge she is.

It's sad when my little cousin and parents know more about what's going on around here than I do. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

So if you know of any new music or good movies I've missed out on in the past 2.5 years, please fill me in. If you like I can help you out with anything Korean you might like to know about...it's good stuff...really...

I think that Danny Fernandes is a good artist to look out for. He's released his first album 'Intro'. A few of his songs appear on the radio, but I don't hear them very often. He's not exactly a superstar artist, more like an up and coming one. Lots of good songs on his CD, the entire thing is awesome.

As for movies, any particular type that you like?

How do you feel about Strong Baby by SeungRi? I think this is a good one. North America shmerica.

We went out last night in Hongdae with Amber and 1/5 of the rainbow was missing. I believe it was Big Bang Black.

We miss you, Sarah! Hope you are enjoying being back with your family and in your homeland...
