Poor Little Lambs
Its unreal how hard the kids work in this country. Its not by choice, though. They're forced to get up super early to make it to school and then after school they go to their "academies", which basically means school for something specific. They go to music lessons, Taekwondo, Gumdo etc as well as extra English lessons (where Youngdo comes in) By the time the poor little things get to me they're just so exhaused. They can barely keep their eyes open and I have to make them stand up if they start to sleep. I wish I could just let them take it easy and rest, but then their parents would be paying the big bucks for nothing. If the parents aren't happy then the Korean staff will hear it and then I'll hear it.
Can you imagine being 10 years old and having to go to school all day and then go to school all night? AND we're supposed to give them a lot of homework. Mothers call in complaining that their kids aren't getting enough homework or they're finishing it too fast so they need more. If a mother requests such a thing than the whole class gets more work. I seriously don't know when they have the time to do it. I feel so bad giving them more work, but I've been told that its the way it works here. If you let a kid get away with more then they'll become lazier than the others and in the long run it won't help them out at all. They won't get the good job and won't have the same drive.

Hi Sarah!!!
I've finally gotten the chance to come and read your blog and must make it part of my daily routine now ;) Wow...your experience so far sounds amazing and I really enjoy reading what you write because it gives me a sense of what my parents must have gone through! Keep in writing!
The teashop misses you! I saw an anchor the other night and thought of you... =D
Hi Sarah
Thanks for keeping us all up to date as to what you are doing in Korea. You have a real knack for writing, not a boring read at all. What an exciting time for you and so many new experiences. Enjoy each moment. These will be real special memories for you.

Oh I hear you!!
My boys are just as sad-off. Highschoolers go from 7:30am-10pm, and the best kids are forced to live in the dorm by their uncaring parents, so that they can be force-studied from 10pm-1am... and all day on Saturday.
And if they don't study hard enough, or fall alseep due to extreme-exhaustion, they're hit.
And when they don't do well on a test, they're REALLY hit! :(
And there's a study-master in the Dorm, who's there to make SURE the kids do as their supposed to...so even in their own rooms, they don't have saftey from the stick.
