Yu-Joung

I arrived at the right time. The weather has been fantastic. I hear it snowed already back home. I'm still wearing t-shirts and going to the beach. I got sunburned last week even! I guess its just the best time of year to come to Korea, the other seasons won't be quite so nice so I'm told.

I have been given a Korean name: Yu-Joung. Most of my students have english games so I figured I should have a Korean name. My senior 3/4 class thought of a few nice ones and I chose from that list. They got pretty excited about it (anything other than actual work!)

They can be so lazy. The older they are, the more they complain. "Teacher no essay! pleeeeeease! no test! teacher!" I'm getting used to them whinning about everything. Its starting to become humourous. I can laugh about things. I'm getting tougher. I've learned that silence can be a good way to let them know you're ticked. I started out telling them every single thing that I wanted them to do. The strain on my throat became too much, so I'm trying my best to just relax, talk less and they're picking up on my body language. I still have a long way to go, but it will come.
