Orphans

I had the opertunity to go to an orphanage in Seoul. I expected the kids to be troubled and angry. They were far from that. They were so amazing. They just had so much love in them and wanted to share it with us. Some where shyer than others, but once we were there for a while they just wanted to talk and play like any other kid.
This precious angel is the youngest one there. My friends told me that when she arrived (9 months ago) she was withdrawn, angry and unresponsive. She has changed so much since then. She was sticking to me like glue, holding my hand and going on and on in Korean, which of course I couldn't understand a word of.
We helped them make some crafts.
Krista and I hung out in the "apartment" of 5 girls. (They live together in mini apartments with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and play room within the orphanage.) This is So-ri. She was pretty agressive and hyper, but so sweet. She was sat on my lap, while we taught each other hand games. She wouldn't let me put her down and was so possesive of me when the other girls wanted to play too. She took a million pictures with my camera. When it was time for us to leave she was screaming and wouldn't let me go. It broke my heart.

The whole experience just inforced my desire to adopt once I'm ready to have kids.

OMG! So uh, WHY did you visit the orphanage in the first place? Just to tease the kids?
"Hey, check this out...I have a car full of toys and candy, get in! Oh, what's that? The door is locked? Well you'll just have to try harder...c'mon...try harder...I signed all the paper-work to take you home... Oh, no? Can't get in? Awe. that's too bad!" *drives away*

(Happily back at my computer in Mokpo with the link to your blog, I shall now read and make annoying comments on all your wonderful stories :)
