Pen Beat
Tapping pens/fingers/you name it has always been something that students do to pass the time in class, but they're starting to take it to a whole new level. The Korean kids call it "pen beat". Apparently there are instructions on how to do it. 1 is tap the tip of the pen. 2 is hit your wrist on the table. 3 is hit the back end of the pen. So you'll have a pen beat like 112 221 331 323. The kids have it written down and practice non-stop. ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! They do it in every single class and don't get that it's sending their old, un-cool teacher off the deep end.
Here is someone who has practiced too much. I love the woman at the beginning..."stop it...stop it" I'm like her. I can't handle it.
Here is one of my kids showing off his skills. He was a little camera shy, so you don't really get the whole effect of it....enjoy.

Hi.
I think the people with talent play with one hand. Even more talent to play with one hand keeping beat with anything and the other hand keeping a smooth rhythm.
actually it's 1 thump your wrist, 2 is tap the tip of your pen, and 3 is slam your pen on the table
