P.C. Bang
I'm sitting in a P.C.bang (which is basically an internet cafe). Well calling it that really isn't doing them any justice. I'm sitting in a huge, comfy leather reclining chair in my private booth. There is a pretty cool ambiance minus all the computer game sounds that I can hear from the gamers around me. PCbangs are HUGE in Korea. I knew that gaming was popular since everytime I ask my kids what they did last night they say "played computer games", but its more than that. The place that I'm in right now is pretty big. There are two other PCbangs in the Youngdo building alone. EVERY building has at least one. At first I thought "how can these places make any money?! there are just too many of them and they're all pretty big and it only costs a buck for an hour!". I get it now. Everyone is obessed with computer games. Its part of the Korean culture, along with eatting Kimchi and listening to bad, but oh-so-good pop music. This place is pretty busy. I keep getting weird looks.
