Days like this...
make me love my job.
Its nice to have classes that listen and you don't have to shout over their voices. It can be difficult to get them to be creative and give answers if they're not sure that they'll be right. They do sit and listen to every word I say. I really feel like the look up to me and I'm learning that some of them really like me as a teacher, which of course feels amazing. I guess for every student that says something not so great like "I want Ryan teacher again" or "shut up" to my face there are probably more students who are glad that I am their teacher.
Today Leeann stayed after class to give me a nicely wrapped gift. Inside was the sweetest note and a necklace! I guess it was a very early Christmas gift. Young-Hwan stays after every class to push the chairs in and straighten out the desks. He never says a lot, but I can see the kindness in his eyes. I think he may have a few problems (he shakes sometimes and I've noticed that it can be difficult for him to write neatly) He always offers me some of his break time snacks. For an assignment on letter writing I told them to write to a friend or family member. David wrote to me and told me that he's so happy to have me as a teacher and I'm the most beautiful etc. (and that he loves me.) ha. They're so cute.
I'm going to be just fine.

AWEEE!!! :) That's awesome!
Yeah, once in a while my kids will surprise me with things like "Alex is my favourite teacher" when I read their journals (and I really like that they've not just answered my example q's, but made up thier own statements)...It's nice to hear when sometimes you wonder how much they're enjoying your class.
It's had this week with the end of the semester coming on, a lot of them keep asking for free study time. I would be happy to give it, but then when I tried to stop the game today, some kids still wanted to play! :O I was pretty excited about that!
