Ramen
Today as my basic class was writing their test I had a quick realization of where I was. Every now and then I'm flooded with all these emotions of "wow look where I am". I couldn't help from saying outloud "HOLY CRAP, I LIVE IN KOREA!" My little diana just looked up at me very confused and just said "teacher!"
Things are good. I'm happy here. There are still many things that haven't done that I told my self I'd do or at least start. Some of them are covered up by excuses. It can be difficult for me to just do somethings. I get easily distracted.
Today was the last class of the school month for my Mon/Wed/Fri classes so I allowed some fun to be had. We played games and ate candy. I "forgot" about grammar lessons in the senior classes. We ate ramen for the last 20 minutes of class with my S3's. I'm liking my kids more and more as we get to know each other. I'm realizing that I just have to accept how they are and not try to change them into the "perfect" student. (To be honest the real keaners are starting to get on my nerves.) Some of their essays might not be that great, or even good, but at least most of them submit them! (The teachers room is where I get to hear all about the horrors the other teachers are dealing with) It makes me feel better that things could be worse.

I wish I could post videos on here. I have some pretty funny ones.
We were sitting around the table at dinner break. Mark the new guy arrived on Monday. He looked very tired and overwhelmed as he was trying to figure out where things were. I leaned over to Amber and said "aren't you glad you're not the new one anymore?" (She came a month after I arrived and Mark is now a month after her.) It just boggles my mind that I've been here for 2 months. Everyone was just like "you've been here for 2 months!? wow. Where does the time go!?" Then Ryan looks over at us and just laughs. (He's been here for 4 1/2 years.) I've been told that the time just moves faster and faster the longer you've been here.

It sure is!
I was so confused why they needed to dump out the water. I kept saying "if you dump out the water than the sauce will go with it and it won't taste good!"
The daughter of the CAO (top civil servant) of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is coming to check out my spare room today.
We haven't finished the Zoning By-law yet either. In both cases, I thought of you.
I know of one similarity between Suwon and Stouffville - they both begin with the letter "S".
