Thailand#2-Phi Phi Island

We took a two hour ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi island. It was a paradise. We stayed on Long Beach, which was a short water taxi ride from the main port.



There were only 4 hotels on our beach, so it was a pretty quiet, relaxing place to be. Our hotel consisted of detached individual rooms with our own little porch.






Phi Phi island was one of the places that was hit by the Tsunami 2 years ago, so many places were still under construction. Apparently the government didn't do much to help them recover. I don't know if this is really true, but I imagine that even if they did have help it would still be so devastating. They had photos from one area put up and a special place for people to pay respect to those who lost their lives.
